Today CEO went on a business visit to Dorothy’s Market in Mt. Sterling. Store Manager Mike Babb gave the students a tour of the 9,500 square foot facility. Mike also gave the students a quick history of Dot and an overview of the company. He told them about what makes Dorothy’s Market unique in several areas of business. They are a salvage store but with an upscale feel and great customer service!
Mike also spoke with students specifically about his job and gave them several tips and insights into managing people and all the responsibilities that come with managing a store. He ended the visit giving the students a few great take aways as they get close to being done with school.
*You will make mistakes and fail sometimes but don’t let the failures be due to lack of effort.
*Be a good person along the way, be compassionate and caring. Be helpful and giving to your family and community!
Thank you Mike for your time, the tour and the generous gifts! And thank you for modeling what you shared with the students!
